Castello del Sole Farmhouse is situated in a small village and it is one of the most picturesque Castles in the area, rich in history and traditions. The facility organizes excursions, walks, planned tours and the production of jams in laboratory.
There is a Bio-farm dedicated to the cultivation of organic products: vegetables, red potatoes, vegetables, fruit, nuts and honey.
Every third Sunday the Farmhouse organizes the "taste Sunday", a walk to discover the hidden treasures of the land and a picnic to taste a lunch made with local products. For guests with reservation, Castello del Sole organizes tastings of typical dishes. The teaching farm is qualified for the study of bees, it can accommodate groups of children who can enjoy wearing overalls and masks to safely approach the beehives to discover the fascinating mystery of this amazing world.
Guest with Slow Tourism Passport will receive a discount of 10% on the stay, plus a pack of jams by the “Castello del Sole”.
Castello del Sole is a family-run farmhouse, located at 980 meters above sea level, in a panoramic area. It is a privileged point of particular interest for the observation of the most important mountains of the central Apennines.
Guests can be accommodated in two nice apartments equipped with facilities to host people with disabilities.
The first apartment called "Radiant" is a studio apartment with a queen size canopy bed, 1 additional bed and a kitchen.
The apartment "Radius", designed for 4/5 people, is composed of a master bedroom, loft and kitchen.
As alternative to the apartments, the family provides for a minimum period of one week, an independent house located in Campello sul Clitunno, which consists of lounge, kitchen, two bathrooms, two double bedrooms, porch and garden.
Guests of Castello del Sole with reservation, can taste a rich breakfast with typical home-made desserts such as tarts made by the inimitable Giacomina with over 45 recipes of jams produced in the company laboratory.
Lunch or dinner will allow the guests the discovery of traditional first courses, soups, vegetables, meat and game business, local cheeses.
Castello del Sole’s facilities are near Valnerina, in the village of Cammoro, in the western part of the municipality of Sellano, between the towns of Foligno, Spoleto and Norcia, surrounded by a particularly attractive area in which falls three different Sites of Community Importance (SCIs) for the high natural value.
The town of Sellano, in which lies the village of Cammoro, is characterized by the large number of forests that cover approximately 60% of the territory.
Guests engage themselves in lot of activities in this area: excursions, guided tours to springs and shrines, sport fishing and canoeing.
