Arcobaleno della Torretta

Well Done

In addition to an area for children and a barbecue, the farmhouse makes mountain bikes at the disposal of its guests for free. Of special value is the exhibit of farm tools that allows one to discover farming traditions and the link with the land. The tourism business accepts pets and is the ideal place for hikes and excursions to discover local nature. At the farmhouse it is possible to directly buy wine, olive oil and cheese.

The “Arcobaleno della Torretta” farmhouse is located in a scenic position 450 meters above sea level it is formed by a building from the first decades of the XX century which was used, on the ground floor, as a stable and storage place for the products produced. The first floor was a modest apartment. Recent restoration works allowed the construction of 7 independent apartments for a total of 25 beds. Light blue, green, pink, orange, indigo and red are the names of the apartments which have independent heating, and a living room with a kitchen. They all face a common garden. Restoration works was done by paying maximum attention to details and by matching the materials used with the existing features and by valorizing the characteristic elements of rural houses.

Even though the farmhouse is right outside Macciano village, its peculiar location allows the guests to enjoy the surrounding nature and the tranquility of the area. The farmhouse extends over 14 hectares, mostly lawn, but also cultivated land with cereals and olive trees. The area around the building is at the disposal of guests. The gardens have a wide variety of trees, while ancient olive trees are dominant. Upon request breakfast can be served.

The farmhouse is equipped with a large parking area and green areas as foreseen by the regulations in force.

Thanks to the characteristic Umbrian countryside, which is capable of meeting the needs of tourists throughout the year, the tourism business is always open.

The small town of Giano dell’Umbria, typical Medieval village with city walls where it is still possible to see Roman ruins, is located at the foothills of the Monti Martini. Its position is central compared to Spoleto, Montefalco, Assisi, Orvieto and Todi. In the center of the village near the Municipality Building, there is the church of S. Maria from the XII century and San Michele with the external part and partially the inside of the XIV century. To be seen the Abbey of San Felice, an interesting Romanesque building with three aisles, with elevated presbytery and crypt containing the sarcophagus of the Saint. Beautiful hilly scenery surrounds the farmhouse with trails to be seen by foot, bike and horseback. Moreover, there are several tourists itineraries nearby: focused on religion (with visits to Assisi, Orvieto, Norcia, Cascia…), dedicated to food and wine (to discover Open wine cellars, the streets of wine and Sagrantino). And again natural (le Cascate delle Marmore), but also  historical and folkloristic (focused on  Calendimaggio of Assisi, Todi Festival, Giostra della Quintana di Foligno, Festival dei Due Mondi di Spoleto, Gaite di Bevagna).

Each apartment is equipped with the necessities to live in and is available for 25€ per night. Linens are included.
