The farmhouse Le Rondini di Francesco D’Assisi organizes, upon request, typical Umbrian cooking classes and embroidery in Assisi point.
In the farmhouse gardens guests can take part in dinners and tastings of typical Umbrian products, amongst which is the olive oil produced thanks to the olive trees of the owners.
Breakfast can be Mediterranean or buffet style and includes a vast choice: milk, tea, hot chocolate, coffee ground directly from the beans, sweets, baked cakes, fresh sandwiches, rusks, butter, honey, nutella, small jars of jam, yogurt, juices and cold cuts produced at the farmhouse.
The farmhouse is equipped with photovoltaic panels; bikes for guests to be used for rides in the area and a large playground.
Recycling is carefully practiced, as well as the reduction of energy waste.
Two of the apartments available at the Rondini di San Francesco di Assisi are equipped to host people with disabilities and the external areas are also all accessible to all.
Special care is dedicated to foreign guests: Mrs. Loredana, responsible for welcoming guests, speaks French and English fluently and ache is ready to receive their guests with courtesy and helpfulness providing all the information necessary for a pleasant stay.
The farmhouse is participated in the project Umbria Green card, which foresees renting electric cars to visit Umbria and a guide to give to the guests with all the suggested itineraries.
At the reception there is a small library with books for children and also about Umbria, and Franciscan spirituality.
But there are also brochures and materials with discounts relative to entrances to specific attractions, events and activities – deals with typical restaurants, the rental of scooters, rafting, ceramic courses.
Le Rondini di San Francesco is located in Cannara, surrounded by the green hills of Assisi, amidst farmland and olive groves.
The farmhouse is the ideal place for families and for people who wish to spend their free time in nature and partake in wellness benefits in the heart of Umbria.
Guests can enjoy comfort thanks to the availability of 10 apartments, furnished with style.
There are large two bedroom apartments (about 50 mt) with independent entrance, built in country villa style: roofs have wood beams and panels in view, terrace or external patio for outdoor dinners and free WIFI.
The farmhouse is closed from November to March.
Next re-opening will be on March 29th 2015 to close again on November 5th 2015.
Nearby, the main cities to be visited are Assisi, Cannara , Foligno, Bettona, Gubbio, Trevi, Spello, Spoleto, Cascia, Norcia and Perugia.
Just a few km away is Mount Subasio, which offers naturalistic excursions and a breathtaking view on the valley below known as Saint Francis’s place.
Not far are Corbara and Trasimeno lakes.
Other places in the surrounding area not to miss are La Città della Domenica, an amusement park for children, Parco del Sole zoo in Collazzone, the farm school “Colle San Nicola” in Cannara, the science and technological park in Perugia, Activo Park in Scheggino and the famous Cascate delle Marmore in Terni.
10 apartments are available in the farmhouse. Their price is between 60 and 95 Euros.
Included in the price: bed linens, bathroom and kitchen, utilities, WiFi, final and after a week (for two week long stays) cleanings. Upon request a crib can be made available.
